I was reading through one of my journals-The 5 Second Rule (which I referenced in my last post) when one question really set my train of thought chugging along.     
What one thing can you do today to give you energy?
This incentivized me to create a list of things that I do to trump or at the very least thwart the daily slump.

    
1. πŸ„ΏπŸ„ΎπŸ…„πŸ„½πŸ„³ πŸ…ƒπŸ„·πŸ„΄ πŸ„°πŸ„»πŸ„°πŸ…πŸ„Ό⏰

Set your alarm a little earlier in the morning. (I vary my time based on what I want to do that morning) This means a launch-time starting with the fearsome figure five if you’re a teacher in my time zone. The difference it makes to be able to stretch or sip herbal tea mindfully, complete a HITT or your daily to-do list is worth sacrificing that extra little slumber. Imagine having time in the morning that actually belongs to you!



2.  π”»π•  π•€π• π•žπ•–π•₯π•™π•šπ•Ÿπ•˜ π•ͺ𝕠𝕦 𝕝𝕠𝕧𝕖 𝕖𝕧𝕖𝕣π•ͺ 𝕕𝕒π•ͺ πŸ’›    

For me, that could be having a lovely lunch prepped, writing a blog post or doing a little yoga before school. 



3.  Π²Ρ” ΠΌΞΉΠΈ∂fΟ…β„“   πŸ§˜πŸΎ‍♀️                                              

Take time to focus, when you’re eating, exercising and engaging with others. Try to become a good listener, it is actually harder than it seems because often we listen to respond rather than to process what we are being told.  

4.  πŸ…‚πŸ„·πŸ„ΎπŸ„ΎπŸ…ƒ πŸ…ƒπŸ„·πŸ„΄ πŸ„±πŸ…πŸ„΄πŸ„΄πŸ…‰πŸ„΄ πŸ’­πŸ’¬

Just a little chat with a friend in work or taking the time to catch up with someone you haven't spoken to in a while. Even a WhatsApp voice message can really revitalize and rejuvenate you during a busy working day. 





5. α–΄Oα’ͺα’ͺOα—― YOα‘Œα–‡ α–΄Iα–‡EπŸ”₯

My sister introduced me to this Yoga-Pilates combination class and it is literally right up my serenity seeking street. Not only does it allow you to work on mobility (years of exercise has rendered me fairly inflexible) it also builds overall strength and really focuses the mind. All you need is a yoga mat and a zest for zen!

6. ɒᴇᴛ α΄α΄œα΄› α΄›Κœα΄‡ Ι’α΄€α΄˜πŸžπŸ

Get outside. I am fortunate to be living in a warm climate which allows me to get some valuable vitamin D but I also miss the fresh Irish air. The couch might seem like the best choice on a dark evening but it’s literally about your body telling your brain who is boss. Throw on your workout gear and get out the gap. 


7. εƒγ„₯δΉ‡δΉ‚ ㄒ卄ㄖ丂乇 
εƒε‚εŒšδΈ¨ε‚γ„₯ ηˆͺγ„©δΈ‚εŒšγ„₯δΉ‡δΈ‚

Smile😊Say hello to the people you meet in the morning. Engage with others. This allows energy to be a transferable force and you might even give somebody else a boost too!

8.Pα΄€α΄„α΄‹ α΄›Κœα΄€α΄› α΄˜ΚŸα΄€Ι΄Ι΄α΄‡Κ€πŸ“–

Organize your life. Plan your workouts, prep your food and pencil in some downtime. Just because you are in the middle of your working week doesn't mean you have to let your wellbeing wilt away. 


9. ͏ɒᴇᴛ α΄›Κœα΄sᴇ ɒʀᴇᴇɴsπŸ₯¦πŸ₯¬πŸ

I have a smoothie every morning and I try to split it 70-30:veg>fruit. My go-to greens are spinach, kale, avocado and cucumber. I love including frozen banana for texture but frozen courgette provides the same effect without sending the sugar content soaring. 




10. ͏GO α–΄Oα–‡ GOα—©α’ͺ


Set a goal and get after it! I signed up for a 5K race this week. I know I can complete it by sticking to my regular strength and cardio routine. However, I want to work towards a PB, therefore I need to incorporate interval training. This week I was literally pasted to the couch but I knew in the back of my mind I had to get up and get after that goal. After that, I managed to clean the house and food prep because I had re-energized for the evening! Double win! #DoubleW



These are just a few takeaway tips, a pick and mix energy fix. I hope you can take some ideas from this!
